The Proposed Project–Location Intelligence and the Business Curriculum

The project is designed to investigate the thoughts, ideas, and questions about the use of location intelligence in business schools by faculty in Iceland.  Outside of the direct research project, there will be an exchange of ideas and information with faculty at the University of Iceland about the integration of location intelligence and spatial analysis into the business curriculum and how location intelligence can address environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues.  These discussions and activities will feed into and connect to the research I am doing with my current research group.  It will also connect with the work we are doing with the Spatial Business Academic Network (SBAN), as well as the work I have been involved in for many years focusing on Geographic Information Science (GIS) and business problems.  The formal research will be conducted through interviews.

I get to co-teach Market Research with a colleague at Háskóli Íslands (The University of Iceland. I’m looking forward to working with Icelandic students and learn more about them.

I will also be doing some work on undergraduate research while I’m here. I have a few projects that I’m working on and I’m interested in integrating an Icelandic perspective if I can.

Lastly, I am part of an outstanding cohort of Fulbright students and scholars (https://fulbright.is/grantees-and-alumni/current-grantees/). Check them out–I am amazed by them and their projects. I look forward to getting to know them more in the coming months.
